Terms of sale

Please read these terms and conditions carefully. They set out your rights and liabilities within the law of England and Wales. Business with Greenwich Instruments Limited will only be made with your acceptance of these terms and conditions.

Cancellation

You have the right to cancel your order up to 14 working days after the day following the delivery of the goods. You must notify us in writing of your cancellation, which can be sent by post, e-mail or fax. In the event that the goods have already been dispatched at the date of receipt of your cancellation of the order you must return the goods to us at your cost and we will credit the original payment method with the price of the goods within 30 days beginning with the day on which notice of cancellation was given. If you do not return the goods within 21 days of your cancellation, we will make a charge in respect of the cost of recovering the goods.

If you do not return the goods or fail to make them available for collection within 30 days of your notice of cancellation, you will be deemed to have accepted the goods, at which point a new purchase contract will be made and you will be charged for your order at the price set out on the web site. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Please note that if you cancel the contract within the relevant period after the goods have been delivered and installed, we may make a charge in respect of the cost of uninstalling and recovering the goods.

Returns

We hope you will be happy be with your purchase but should you wish to return any item(s) please follow the instructions below.

When returning product we recommend that:
1. You use a carrier that offers shipment tracking; and
2. You insure the package for its full value.

If you choose not to follow these recommendations we regret that you will be responsible for any loss or damage to the product during transit.

We regret that we are unable to accept returns of the following items:
1. Personalised goods that have been specifically configured to a customer's specification; and
2. Opened software or audio/video recordings.

Non-faulty items

If there is no fault, please return the goods within 14 days of receipt. If the goods are returned un-damaged in their original and undamaged packaging, we will exchange them or offer a refund based on your original payment method. We do not cover the cost of your return postage.

Non-faulty items must be returned in the original and undamaged packaging, with all of their components, manuals and warranty cards.

You are required to take reasonable care of all of the components. If you do not return the goods in the original and undamaged packaging with all of their components. You will liable for any loss in value caused by your failure to take care of all of the components, which may be up to 50% of the price on the order.

Please note that we are unable to accept back non-faulty items after 14 days of receipt.

Faulty items

A product is considered "dead on arrival" (DOA) if it shows symptoms of hardware failure, preventing basic operation, upon its first use out of the box.

If you believe your product is DOA please call Greenwich Instruments on 01322 668 724 within 7 days of the delivery date. Upon confirmation of the product being DOA you will then be offered the following options:

1. Replacement

a replacement product will be shipped to you at Greenwich Instruments' expense and details of how to return the DOA product will be provided.

2. Repair

you may have the product repaired.

3. Refund

a full refund will be given and details of how to return the product provided.

If the product is not deemed to be DOA, the manufacturer's standard warranty will apply.

Every product carries a manufacturer's warranty for a minimum of 12 months. Where a fault develops with the items more than 14 days after delivery we will arrange for the item to be repaired or replaced under the terms of the manufacturers warranty.

Where the manufacturer operates direct product support and warranty repair procedures, you must process the claim directly with the manufacturer, or the manufacturer's third party agent, after being advised to do so by Greenwich Instruments' staff.

All returns for repair should be returned with proof of purchase. Failure to provide this proof may result in the repair becoming chargeable.

Repair turnaround time is dependant on the relevant manufacturer's current workload.

Service estimates for products not covered by the manufacturer's warranty will be chargeable. An estimate will be e-mailed and a confirmation of acceptance is required within 10 days. Where such acceptance is not received, the product will be returned not repaired and a �30 service charge will be payable. The manufacturer may void the warranty and charge for the repair if in its opinion the fault has been caused by malicious or accidental damage or misuse.

The return shipping fees for all repairs will be at the disgression of Greenwich Instruments Ltd.

Prices

All prices are expressed inclusive of any VAT payable unless otherwise stated. The price of the items do not include the delivery charge which will be charged at the rates applicable at the date you place your order and which will be displayed in the 'Help' section of the web site.

Availability

Current stock levels and availability is shown for each product on our website. However, occasionally we may be unable to supply a particular item.

Acceptance

There will be no contract of any kind between you and us unless and until we actually dispatch the goods to you. Your order is an offer to buy from us. At the moment that the goods are dispatched (and not before), a contract will be made between you and us, and you will be charged for the goods. Where items are dispatched separately, then our acceptance of the order in respect of each item takes place when that item is dispatched, and you will be charged for each item when it is dispatched.

Delivery

Delivery will be made to the address specified by you on the completed order form.

We do our best to secure delivery within 30 days of the date of your order but shall not be liable for loss occasioned by delay in delivery arising out of any cause beyond our control.

Where items are ordered via our "Next Day" option we will do our best to ensure delivery on the agreed day, however we will not be liable for any loss occasioned by delay in delivery arising out of any cause beyond our control.

All goods must be signed for on delivery by an adult aged 18 years or over. If no one of that age is at the address when the delivery is attempted the goods may be retained by the carrier, in which case the carrier will leave notification of attempted delivery.

In these circumstances, if we have to retry to deliver the goods, a further delivery charge may become payable.

General

These Product Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

If any of these Product Terms is held by any court of competent authority to be unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, in whole or in part, this will not affect the validity of the remaining Product Terms which will continue to be valid and enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by law.
